I am older than you are and I wore a pair the other day under a corderoy jumper. I am not sure i would wear them all over town but it was great around the house and running errands. I rather wear them than completely bare legs myself.
I have to share: a friend of mine had an LP out one day (or her husband did) and their 9 year old son walked in, took one look, and said "what kind of CD is THAT?!" (wonder what they'd say if they saw 8 tracks?)

I listened to the same LP and had numerous pairs of cropped, stretched leggins! I loved the 80's!

They don't know life before power windows came standard and 4th graders carried cell phones.
