60 years ago this March we landed at Ellis Island with the clothes on our back. I kept looking in the street because they told me there was gold in the streets of America. The skyscrapers amazed us as we bent over double backwards to look at their tops.
Our America - the greatest and most wonderful country in the world! Thank you for taking us in.
My yiayia used to say the same thing about Ellis Island and the streets paved with gold. Yassou Georgieporgie!
